About

Rooted in contrasts

I am Alder, an editorial photographer drawn to the spaces where stillness meets motion, and simplicity reveals depth. My work is defined by contrasts — light and shadow, sharp focus and blurred movement, modern form and organic texture.

For me, photography is about reducing the noise, holding on to what remains.

A gesture of a hand, the texture of fabric, the way wind shapes a silhouette. Each frame is a meditation on presence, fleeting moments held long enough to be felt.

Beyond the lens

Away from the camera, life slows down. I live by the sea with Ember, my red border collie, who keeps me company on long walks along the shoreline — the same horizon that often finds its way into my work.

I’m an avid reader, forever carrying a novel in my bag, and I have what I lovingly call my “grandma hobbies”: knitting, baking sourdough, and finding joy in the slow rituals of daily life. These small, grounding practices remind me that creativity isn’t only in grand gestures, but also in the quiet details we return to again and again.

They should linger, carrying weight long after they’ve been seen. My approach is minimalist, yet deeply human: refined compositions rooted in nature, infused with raw emotion.

Through texture, shadow, and form, I aim to create photographs that are not only looked at, but experienced.

I believe images should speak in silence.

I collaborate with sustainable fashion brands, artisans, and creative studios who seek more than surface-level imagery. Together, we create campaigns that feel authentic, intentional, and enduring.

Beyond commercial projects, I develop fine art series exhibited in galleries and collected by those who see photography as both visual and emotional narrative.

Who I work with

— Mara Klein, Gallery Curator

Her images hold silence and power at once. They linger long after you’ve seen them.

— Sierra Holt, Creative Director, Élan Studio

Alder doesn’t just take photos — she creates worlds. Our campaign became art.

— Lucía Navarro, Art Collector

Each photograph was a story. Minimal, striking, unforgettable.

— Jonas Meyer, Founder, Wildform Apparel

Working with Alder felt effortless. She understood our brand’s essence before we found the words.

To remind myself — and others — that beauty is often found in what’s simplest, rawest, most elemental.

This is why I photograph. To slow down. To notice.

At the core

At the heart of my work is presence. To me, photography is not about abundance — it is about essence. What remains when everything unnecessary is stripped away.

Each image I create is a study in contrasts: bold yet quiet, fleeting yet timeless, minimal yet expansive. A fragment of silence, a gesture of time, an echo of what lingers after the moment has passed.
